Larry Sullivan - Chairman

Larry is Chairman and co-founder of COINS, he is also co-founder of five other niche market software houses including one in Poland and one in Russia. His companies include Total Objects (www.totalobjects.co.uk) where he holds the role of Director, and Oasis Solutions (www.oasissolutions.co.uk) where he is Chairman. In 2004 Larry also funded and established the not for profit Stepping Stones (www.steppingstones.org.uk), a school for children with hemiplegia. His past directorships include CSBI SA (Poland), Computerland Poland, CSBI EE (Russia), CSB Meridian, and Matrix Ventures.

Derek Leaver - Chief Executive

Derek joined the COINS board in 1996 and has over thirty years of experience in IT, the majority of them relating to the construction industry. With a technical background in large scale computer systems and data communications gained at Burroughs (Unisys) he joined the board of a Manchester based software house developing mainframe solutions for construction, manufacturing and wholesale companies. Before joining the COINS board Derek worked as an independent consultant undertaking projects in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Australia. Derek was responsible for the establishment of our Australian Operation and is President of the COINS Corporation based in Dallas.

Nigel Cope - Business Development Director

Nigel is the Business Developement Director and was co-founder of the company in 1986 with Chairman, Larry Sullivan. Nigel is responsible for business development and is often the driving force behind new ventures, such as the Built Environment Solutions Team (BEST) and COINS Electronic Trading Community (COINS-etc). Nigel is a well-respected figure in Construction IT. He sits on the Management Board of Construct IT and is a member of the IT & Controls Committee at CIBSE. He is a non-executive director of Gane International, the automated time and attendance specialists.

Tim Armitage - Technical Director

Tim has a first class honours degree in Civil Engineering Science from Wadham College, Oxford. He started his career with consulting engineers Frank Graham & Partners before joining COINS in 1989. Tim is responsible for the commercial development of COINS, having been the architect behind the product and the designer of innovative procedures and processes. Tim is an acknowledged expert in the Progress 4GL programming language and currently also heads up the R&D and Support teams, investigating how emerging technologies may be used to provide pragmatic solutions for the industry.

Michael James - New Business Director

Mike is a Chartered Engineer with a Masters Degree in Construction Management. He started his Construction Industry career as a Site Engineer and has spent several years in IT management. Mike joined COINS in 1995 as a consultant and moved into the Commercial Team three years later. In the years that Mike has been with COINS he has built a strong and positive relationship with many of our clients.
