Shepherd Homes have won numerous National House-Building Council (NHBC) 'Pride in the Job' Awards and Commendations for site supervision, plus many awards for design and service, including the coveted Express Newspapers' 'House-builder of the Year' accolade. Shepherd Homes will initially implement a 25-user COINS system covering Land Appraisal, Cash Flow & Profit Forecasting, Financials, Procurement, Valuations & Automated Sub-contract Payments, House Sales, Customer Care and Document Management. COINS will replace a number of disparate systems previously operated by Shepherd Homes, including Open Accounts and Sitestream. ‘Disparate systems were not working for the business’ states Craig Smith, Finance Director of Shepherd Homes. ‘They relied heavily on the re-keying of data and led to operational inefficiencies. We reviewed a number of suppliers to replace the current systems, with the pre-requisite being for one integrated system. As part of the process we visited a couple of existing COINS house building clients and were very satisfied with what we saw and heard about the system. Having also used COINS previously within Persimmon Homes I am extremely confident that there are numerous benefits that COINS will bring to Shepherd Homes’ concludes Craig. Neil Wilkinson, Commercial Director of Shepherd Homes adds ‘COINS will underpin the continuing growth of this business and will provide support for the key commercial functions of Surveying and Procurement. This is an area in which we have encountered problems with previous systems that have given rise to issues with regard to data compatibility and project co-ordination and COINS will enable Shepherd Homes to replace fragmented systems with one integrated system’. Steve Murray, Managing Director of Shepherd Homes states ‘COINS is an integrated system and will provide a stable IT platform for the company from which to expand its business. In addition, numerous companies within our sector use COINS, including a number of our competitors. Potentially this will have benefits when we are recruiting new staff, as there is a very good chance that they will already have first hand experience of COINS’ |
