| Back | The recently launched COINS Managed Services offering has attracted customers across all sectors of the industry. Over twenty COINS users are now benefiting from the service, including Balfour Beatty Group Engineering, Campbell Buchanan, and Tulloch Group. The new service enables clients to mitigate the current and future risks in their IT competencies and technology, allowing them to focus on their core business supported by their COINS software applications. There are considerable advantages for customers who choose a managed service solution, not least cost efficiencies through negating the need for capital investment and attendant resource requirements. Customers also benefit from the comprehensive resilience associated with a Tier 3 data centre: no single point of failure; full disaster recovery and backup provision; a secure, controlled environment; and access to a highly experienced IT support and engineering team for assistance and advice.
John Laing Partnership (JLP) was the first live COINS customer to migrate from their own server onto the COINS managed service. IT Manager, Bernie Hall comments ‘Due to the age and unreliability of our existing server and the desire to use COINS Open Architecture, I recommended the managed service as a cost effective and flexible solution for our business. ’Finance Director, Martin Storer adds ‘The migration went well and we were pleased with the co-operation between COINS and their service partners.’ He continues ‘It is comforting to know that our COINS system is being continually monitored and has excellent back up and disaster recovery facilities in place.’ Since their MBO from the John Laing Group 5 years ago, John Laing Partnership (JLP) has become one of the leading exponents of regeneration, building and refurbishing homes with its social housing partners and through its private sale company.
