COINS launches new team building challenge events for the construction industry
The annual COINS 3 Peaks Challenge, being held for the 10 time in 2012, has built a great reputation within the industry as a professional, enjoyable and meaningful event. It is the biggest charitable fundraising event in the UK construction industry, raising an average of nearly £260,000 per year for the COINS Foundation, over £2.3 million since it began. Many companies love the team building experience of the COINS 3 Peaks Challenge but also desire new challenges and new fundraising avenues. So in 2012, we are launching two new challenge events we hope will appeal to them, as well as running the original COINS 3 Peaks Challenge and our annual golf day. 16th - 17th June 2012Teams will climb 24 peaks, all over 2,400 feet, in 24 hours. Physical fitness and endurance is a must for this event, but more than that, determination, self-belief, mental toughness and, above all, team spirit to get to the finish line! The route is 32.5 miles long and includes Scafell Pike, the highest peak in England. Over two days (the goal is 14 hours on Saturday and 10 hours on Sunday) teams of 4-6 walkers will take in some of the most stunning scenery in the Lake District. COINS Coast to Coast Cycle Challenge
27th – 30th September 2012Coast to Coast is the classic Great British bike ride which covers Northern England’s most rugged and spectacular scenery. Over three days, individuals and teams will cycle 136 miles from the west coast to the east coast of England. The route follows the National Cycle Networks, using quiet country lanes and cycle ways. A bit of practise to avoid saddle sores and some mental toughness is what will be required to participate in this event. Training and Fundraising SupportWe will be running training weekends for all our events, as well as offering fundraising workshops and briefing sessions to ensure teams are as well prepared as possible. The more people prepare, the more they enjoy the event and the more we can support the vital projects of the COINS Foundation.
