With a packed agenda the conference got underway with a welcome speech from Paul Stewart-Smith, COINS UK Chief Operating Officer. Paul explained the theme of the conference, 'Beyond Transactions', and the aim of all the sessions; to explore how COINS can offer a business far more than just transaction processing. Typically the focus on systems takes place at a functionality level – data and business logic dictate, it ignores the business process and business intelligence that delivers the true value of systems to a business. These areas, above the 'functionality line', are concerned with data provisioning and business visibility and look Beyond Transactions and on into adding value. The day continued with key sessions on the very popular subjects of Winning Contracts and Commercials complemented with special interest group meetings on Facilities Management, Marketing, Payroll and Expenses and Human Resources, alongside more technical workshops. There was also a good range of sessions focusing on modules currently available for COINS Ti users from the USA. |
