High Commissioner Helen Liddell, a former Cabinet minister from Scotland and now enjoying a post as the British High Commissioner in Australia, was in Brisbane on the 27th June to take part in the Official Welcoming Committee for the returning Soldiers coming home from Iraq.

Mrs Liddell took time out of her busy schedule to officially open the new Australian office of COINS. The Official party was also accompanied by the ‘Head of Post’ for the British Consulate, Rob Zacharin, who is also interested in assisting COINS in Australia.

The High Commissioner was met by the Australia Branch Manager, Narelle Shipley, and with the support of the staff from the COINS Australian office she was given a tour of the new offices plus a brief outline of COINS software and services offered by the Australian operation. Also present at the Official opening was Geoff Carson, CIO for Laing O’Rourke Australia and a large user of COINS in Australia, the UK, and AsiaPacific.

After gaining some insight into business carried out by COINS, Mrs Liddell was suitably impressed by the Australian team and was quoted as saying; ‘How can we assist you in expanding your business in Australia?’
