To comply with HMRC requirements, companies receiving electronic invoices must be readily able to recreate the invoice information as at the time of its original transmission. Companies must keep history files so that they can find the appropriate original details from any particular time in the past if you are asked to do so by a visiting VAT officer.
Included within the COINS eCommerce service is the COINS Information Manager (CIM) integrated electronic document management system. This document management systen satisfies ALL of the HMRC requirements. The included COINS Information Manager (CIM) is initially issued with a limited licence that covers only the storage, retrieval and printing of XML documents, but excludes the ability to store other document types or to store scanned images. These additional functions are fully available under a full COINS Information Manager (CIM) license.
Invoice query resolution

Functionality included within the COINS eCommerce service allows the user to email either a link (for internal recipients), or the actual electronic document, to support the identification, tracking and resolution of invoice related queries.

Remote access

The COINS Information Manager (CIM) provides remote WEB access to all documents and images. This allows any user with the appropriate login rights to access any of the stored documents and images via a WEB interface and does not require any additional PC software.
