Supply Chain Solutions

Managing a constantly changing supply chain in the construction sector has to be one of the most challenging tasks undertaken by todays Procurement Directors. Establishing and developing supplier relationships within a challenging economic climate requires considerable effort and focus. Driving process efficiency improvements and at the same time, improving business transaction quality and reducing procurement effort and cost, provides added complexity to the challenge. The COINS suite of Supply Chain solutions provides the opportunity to minimise these challenges, reduce procurement risk and to progressively improve business transaction quality with a lower cost base.
Supplier Relationship Management (SRM)
One of the underlying key objectives of COINS Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) is to focus on the development of buyer/supplier relationships so as to foster and encourage an environment of continuous and sustainable improvement within the supply chain with regard to, amongst other things, controlling cost, improving quality, inspiring innovation, and promoting collaborative working practices. Recognising that working collaboratively towards these goals delivers measurable and mutual benefits.
Supply Chain Management (SCM)

Research has shown that in all but the most extreme of cases, that the most efficient and cost-effective proportion of the supply base is reached when the proportion of Preferred Suppliers is somewhere between 2.5% and 5.0% of the total supply base, or between 25 to 50 suppliers per 1,000 suppliers used. In addition, these efficiencies are further improved when the lion share of the spend; somewhere in excess of 80% is placed with these Preferred (T1 and T2) suppliers.

There is a direct correlation between the size of the supply base and the proportion of that supply base that are Preferred Suppliers, and the ability of the procurement professionals to deliver procurement efficiencies and savings in operational cost. The COINS suite of Supply Chain solutions are provided to assist the procurement professionals in their drive to improve the performance, productivity and performance of the procurement function.
