COINS clients from around the United States gathered at the Marriott Renaissance Waterfront in Boston during the week of November 9, 2009 for COINS Conference 2009. With "Changing the Game" as its theme, the COINS Conference 2009 emphasized business processes and looking beyond transaction processing in COINS to the wider business issues. To reflect this emphasis, the Product Showcases covered a broad business process area rather than a single COINS module. COINS Conference 2009 explored the unique approach COINS takes to meeting customer business requirements through a complete solution that combines world-class software, domain expertise, and development partnership. Some highlights include: - "The Playing Field" - a keynote presentation by COINS Chairman Larry Sullivan explored the status of the construction industry world wide.
- "Emerging Technology" - touching on BIM, Google Gadgets, iPhone applications, cloud computing, and other technologies that construction companies should be ready to take advantage of, and discussing how COINS Open Architecture is positioned to take advantage of them.
- "Reporting and Data Marts" - well attended Showcase and Explore sessions delved into the power of COINS business intelligence and reporting toolset.
Sessions on Finance, Project Management, Procurement, Service and Facilities Management, Human Resources, Information Technology and other topics appealed to a wide variety of directors, managers, and operational staff. Feedback has been great, with clients finding the COINS Conference 2009 to be valuable and enjoyable. "The flexibility and scope of the COINS product was impressive and with what I learned from the conference we are now able to step back and assess where the greatest business value can be gained and start to explore and deploy the new OA product." - Fred Cook, Vice President/CFO of Burch Corporation Although nothing beats attending a COINS Conference in person, with its many opportunities to talk with COINS staff and share experiences with other COINS users, clients may view the content of the conference presentations in the Client Area web site. |
