A grant from COINS Foundation is supporting a Habitat for Humanity house in Albany, NY as part of Sheridan Hollow , a neighborhood project that includes mixed use buildings for stores, single family homes and dual occupancy homes.
The COINS Latham office is putting muscle behind the money, with employee volunteers participating in a series of six “Build Days” to help with all aspects of the construction of the house, which is located at 193 Sheridan Avenue, Albany.
Sheridan Hollow is a particularly interesting project, with Habitat for Humanity partnering the Touhey Homeownership Foundation to intermingle single-family Habitat homes, 2-family homes sponsored by the Touhey Homeownership Foundation and mixed-use commercial buildings – one of which will soon be home to Habitat’s new Albany headquarters.
The result will be a vibrant, diverse neighborhood with increased affordable homeownership opportunities and new commercial and retail investment.
