Crowder Construction Company, one of the Southeast’s leading contracting companies, selected COINS after analysis of the potential benefits of a move to COINS OA. According to Lynn Hansen, Chief Financial Officer, “Our goal was to consolidate our processes into one integrated system. OA is allowing us to have Human Resources, Accounting, Imaging, and Project Management in one system which should benefit everyone in our organization."
Crowder was recently recognized on Engineering News-Record’s (ENR) list of the Top 400 Contractors for 2012. Published annually, the ENR Top 400 recognizes the top revenue-grossing general contractors in the U.S. construction industry.
The first phase of the implementation went live last spring the scope of which was a go-live of the OA HR module deployed against their current COINS TI system.
The second phase, now live, included all the OA financial ledgers, payroll, procurement, project change control, forecasting, document management including scanning, Business Intelligence workflows and dashboards.
The custom built workflows are to support the procurement, invoicing and HR processes. Claudia Dodgen, VP of Employee Services, led the HR implementation and is working on the related workflows. “With the HR workflows, we hope to streamline paper-intensive procedures, remove duplicate entry, and eliminate the potential of missing key actions in the HR cycle.”
Karl Francis, VP of Finance has been intimately involved throughout the implementation. “OA expedites entry of Accounts Payable into the system and streamlines the procurement process, ensuring policies and procedures are followed.”
Crowder continues to thrive despite the difficult economic conditions that continue to affect large contractors. The ability to be diversified and secure work in different market sectors has not only shown Crowder’s strength as a company but versatility in a vulnerable market as well.
