The Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management of customer COINS projects in accordance with the COINS methodology, COMET. Applying knowledge, agreed techniques, tools and controls to manage the project.

The role scans programmes of work with large customers who will typically be active with a number of concurrent projects and project workstreams and requires the Project Manager to coordinate COINS staff and resources for these workstreams, being the point of control/responsibility/management and escalations.

The Project Manager works with the client team to deliver the business products with acceptable quality, within agreed time and cost tolerances and according to contract.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

  • Establish the detailed scope of the project during project initiation and agree scope with client. Engage with the client to manage project planning, resource scheduling and issues management.
  • Be responsible for all project communication. Provide regular status updates to all stakeholders. Maintain the current project plan.
  • Actively manage the project team for the duration of the project/programme of works for the purposes of project delivery. Delegate project tasks and record progress. Ensure the skills mix of a resource is appropriate for the task with which they are allocated and that the time allocated for those tasks is reasonable and sufficient for the tasks to be completed.
  • Ensure that customers communications are professional, timely, appropriate and consistent across all workstreams of any projects
  • Provide project staff with Project Activity Report templates and be responsible for the follow up of outstanding actions and tasks as reported.
  • Manage client variations and changes to project scope and ensure that change controls/authorisation and project governance procedures are adhered to. Where software development is required, work with the client and COINS development PMO to ensure that requirements are recorded, documented, agreed, accepted, delivered as per agreed schedule, installed, tested, signed off and billed.
  • Ensure that Quality Criteria are recorded/measured/tested and signed off.
  • Manage project billing including the recharging of project expenses where covered by the project contract.
  • Be responsible for closing a project, ensuring handover to Support Team and project signoff by client.
  • Provide COINS ‘pre-sale/pre-project’ demonstration resources as required for potential clients
